DC Tractor Drive

The Particulars:

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020—Election Day—Matt Erickson is planning on leaving Quincy, Washington, in a John Deere tractor while pulling a travel trailer (as temporary sleeping quarters and as a mobile billboard), on a four-month, 4,000-mile journey to Washington, D.C.

He plans to arrive in Washington, D.C. on or before March 3, 2021, which is the 200 th anniversary of the (Cohens v. Virginia) Supreme Court opinion he asserts has improperly steered government action away from founding constitutional principles.

Erickson will head south on smaller highways and back roads, journeying through the western States before heading east during the winter months along the southern U.S. and then north along eastern States until he arrives in Washington, D.C.

He aims to drive 1,000 miles per month, averaging 250 miles per week. Driving at approximately 15 mph, he thus needs to drive approximately six hours per day, three days per week. This rate should provide him ample time to stop and chat with locals along the route who are interested in Restoring Our American Republic.
